GUTHRIES DOUBLE CHAIR

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Charlotte Pass is excited to share the latest progress on the Guthries Double Chair, a major infrastructure project scheduled to open for Winter 2026.

As of January, all tower footings are now complete, the bottom station bullwheel and operator’s hut have been installed and Tower One is in place. With these foundations established, construction has progressed to the top station, where structures are steadily taking shape.

This week, approximately 30 cubic metres of concrete was flown to the top station to form its foundation. Over the coming weeks, helicopter operations will continue, utilising a heavy-lift Blackhawk helicopter to support the installation of the remaining lift towers, the top station bullwheel, and the operator’s hut, all of which will be mounted onto their new foundations.

With major components now being installed, the project remains on track for completion in early May. The new lift will deliver a more reliable and efficient experience for guests accessing the Guthries ski area during the winter months.

Guests visiting the resort throughout summer are asked to remain mindful of active construction zones and to follow staff directions, particularly on the resort driveway and nearby walking trails.

Further updates will be shared as construction continues toward completion ahead of Winter 2026.
